India celebrated yesterday its 71st Independence Day. In the years after securing freedom, the country has made significant strides in social welfare, science & technology, and economic development. Especially after the initiation of economic reforms in the 1990s India has become a more globally integrated economy and also the Indo-German relations have intensified in the previous decades to an extent that is not even reflected in the data on international mercantile trade. The revenues generated by these companies annually lies in the multi-billion range (see attachment), besides providing employment to thousands of people.
